Den Durchbruch schafften die STATLER BROTHERS durch den großen JOHNNY CASH der die Künstler gehört hatte und sie letztlich zu seinem Label holte. Mit diesem vereinbarten die Musiker zunächst die Veröffentlichung von drei Singles. Die ersten beiden brachten kaum Aufmerksamkeit doch dann erzielten sie mit Flowers On The Wall den großen Durchbruch. Darauf folgend brachte die Gruppe in fünf Jahren vier Alben heraus. Die Essenz dessen ist auf Flowers On The Wall The Essential Statler Brothers zu finden.
